A Brief Update
Wedding planning is in full swing! According to our checklist, we're a little behind, but catching up. Kellie has found her dress (but will not let me see it, nor will she describe it to me). We are very close to figuring out the catering situation and probably have a photographer lined up. All in all, we're making progress. Good times.

Good News!
Our pick for the reception location was kind of a long-shot. We wanted to reserve a place called the Zilker Clubhouse, just down the road from Zilker Park. Not only is it one of the most affordable sites in Austin, but it also has an amazing view of downtown. The trouble is, reservations are done by lottery. You submit your request letter and they do a drawing to determine who gets it for a given day. So, again, it was kind of a long-shot.
But, I am happy to report that, as of yesterday, we have officially won the lottery and have reserved the Zilker Clubhouse for our wedding on April 12! Calloo, Callay!

This Day in History
For those who are interested in such things, Kellie and I have set a date for our wedding. The date is... April 12, 2008! We are going to wait until next month, when our date is confirmed with the church, to send out save the dates, so consider this a pre-save-the-date save the date, so to speak. Woot!

In Case You Didn't Hear...
I'm pretty sure I've already published this joyous news far and wide, but Kellie and I got engaged last weekend. Hurray! Kellie and I went on a small vacation to San Antonio last weekend, ostensibly to celebrate her 23rd birthday. On Friday, we drove down, stopping at the Natural Bridge Wildlife Preserve along the way to visit the various animals. Saturday, we spend most of the day meeting aquatic wildlife at Sea World. After Sea World, we walked down to Market Square, ate at Mi Tierra, walked around the riverwalk, and eventually made our way back to our hotel, a neat little 3 story place built around 1900 with rooms full of antiques. Very romantic. In the basement, there was this nifty bar/lounge, lit by candlelight, full of chairs and couches and very few people. She went back to the room to change, whilst I headed down to the club to get us a couch and order champagne. When she arrived, I began teasing her about her birthday present, finally hinting that I had it with me. Then I leaned over and whispered the fateful words in her ear. She was somewhat taken aback, but of course she said yes. We're both very excited and looking toward getting married next Spring. :) I will post pictures soon (hopefully).
